“NOUVELLES VAGUES, los sesenta se rebelan”
Nuevas olas cinematográficas en todo el mundo

Este año, nuestro ciclo se centra en la renovación de las cinematografías nacionales europeas de los años 60.      
Ahora que Richard Linklater recuerda al mundo lo fascinante de la “Nouvelle Vague” en su nuevo film, desde el Ye-Yé queremos recordar que esa rebeldía no solo pasaba en Francia. Y es que el impulso del neorrealismo cinematográfico en Europa se extendía hasta Sudamérica y los USA. Surgía, cierto es, en Francia y en Inglaterra; con la “Nouvelle Vague” y el “Free Cinema” y lo capitaneaban directores y directoras muy jóvenes, procedentes del mundo de la crítica cinematográfica y del arte. Pero poco a poco, fueron apareciendo “nuevos cines” en Alemania, Italia, Suiza, España, Checoslovaquia, Hungría, Polonia, Rusia, Yugoslavia, países escandinavos, Japón y, en América, en Brasil, Cuba y Canadá… Llegando a contagiar a las estructuras del cine de Hollywood.

En el Yeyé 2026 vamos a repasar los nuevos cines de algunos países, y reflexionar sobre los cambios estilísticos y argumentales que nos brindaron estas oleadas del 7º arte tan fantásticas. Como siempre, lo haremos con películas bizarras, de culto, musicales, bellas y maravillosas… ¡Y que el viento nos lleve!!!

On this ocassion, our film series focuses on the revival of European national cinema in the 1960s.
Now that Richard Linklater is reminding the world of the fascination of the ‘Nouvelle Vague’ in his new film, here at Ye-Yé we want to remind everyone that this spirit of rebellion wasn’t confined to France. The fact is that the momentum of cinematic neorealism in Europe extended as far as South America and the USA. It emerged, it is true, in France and England; with the “Nouvelle Vague” and “Free Cinema”, and was spearheaded by very young directors, hailing from the worlds of film criticism and art. But little by little, “new waves” began to appear in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Yugoslavia, the Scandinavian countries, Japan and, in the Americas, in Brazil, Cuba and Canada… Eventually influencing the very fabric of Hollywood cinema.

At Yeyé 2026, we’re going to take a look at the new wave of cinema in a number of countries, and reflect on the stylistic and narrative changes brought about by these fantastic waves of the 7th art. As always, we’ll be doing so with bizarre, cult, musical, beautiful and wonderful films… And may the wind carry us away!!!
