RENDEZ-VOUS nace como la interpretación acústica del grupo Les Rencards, pero también como la versión más artística, sofisticada e íntima de esta formación. La cantante y el bajista de la banda se unen en una “cita” musical y creativa, para ofrecer conciertos llenos de performances originales y canciones inesperadas. Así, Merli Marlowe y Gabriel de Camargo dan vida a su proyecto más personal: RENDEZ-VOUS.

Rendez-vous en francés significa “cita”, igual que rencard. Pero si bien LES RENCARDS tiene su base musical en el punk y el rock & roll de los años sesenta, interpretado en francés y con un directo muy salvaje… Su evolución en RENDEZ-VOUS responde más a la elección de una música minimalista y performativa francesa y brasileña, desde una perspectiva intimista y estética… aunque también sensual y siempre asalvajada. Las canciones del repertorio de RENDEZ-VOUS son una fusión de estilos e influencias llenas de música de los 60s y 70s, y letras revestidas de cine, de literatura, de submundos y de perversidad… Temas originales, pero también otros icónicos y algunas rarezas delicatesen de otros lares… Ahora sí, ya tenéis un RENDEZ-VOUS franco-brasileño.

RENDEZ-VOUS began as the acoustic interpretation of the group Les Rencards, but also as the most artistic, sophisticated and intimate version of this line-up. The band’s singer and bassist come together for a musical and creative “rendezvous”, offering concerts filled with original performances and unexpected songs. Thus, Merli Marlowe and Gabriel de Camargo bring their most personal project to life: RENDEZ-VOUS.

In French, ‘rendez-vous’ means ‘date’, just like ‘rencard’. But whilst LES RENCARDS draw their musical inspiration from 1960s punk and rock & roll, performed in French and with a wildly energetic live show… their evolution into RENDEZ-VOUS is more a reflection of a choice of minimalist, performative French and Brazilian music, from an intimate and aesthetic perspective… though also sensual and always wild. The songs in the RENDEZ-VOUS repertoire are a fusion of styles and influences…

The songs in RENDEZ-VOUS’s repertoire are a fusion of styles and influences steeped in the music of the 60s and 70s, with lyrics inspired by cinema, literature, the underworld and a touch of the macabre… Original tracks, alongside iconic classics and some rare gems from further afield… And so, here you have your Franco-Brazilian RENDEZ-VOUS.
